1 Newtown Avenue Killarney, Johannesburg (map)
Join us for an evening led by international guests, Geertjan Wielenga from Oracle Netherlands and Andrejus Baranovskis from Red Samurai Consulting.
If you're creating large enterprise applications, in domains such as healthcare, finance, and logistics, does it make sense to use JavaScript? Traditionally, technologies such as Oracle Forms, APEX, ADF, and other JSF-based solutions have been used.
Oracle itself is slowly shifting to JavaScript, specifically for the frontend of its own applications, for mobile and web. Rather than creating a new framework, Oracle has been assembling a toolkit of existing open source libraries and technologies, providing enterprise features such as data visualization components, modularity, internationalization, and more.
It's called Oracle JET. And it's all free!
Come learn what Oracle has been doing and how you can use all of it yourself and for free.
Agenda
18:00 - 19:00 - Social and food
19:00 - 20:00 - Using JavaScript & NPM/Yeoman & Oracle JET
